For California debtors, free prepetition credit counseling (and $5 for the certificate of completion) is currently available from the Consumer Bankruptcy Counseling Project, at www.consumerbankruptcycounseling.info. Please note that other approved credit counseling agencies waive their fees under limited circumstances.
Info attendees could bring to clinic on a sheet of binder paper are:
1. Regarding as to each:
a. Balance on each mortgage.
b. Fair market value (Zillow, etc.)
2. Vehicles. Kelly Blue Book private party value and loan balance secured by each.
3. Bank account balances
4. Stocks/Bonds/brokerage accounts
5. Jewelry, art, values.
6. Values of other assets:
a. Whole life insurance, annuities, collectibles
7. Gross Income last 6 months (re eligibility).
8. Ever filed bankruptcy before? If yes, when and what chapter?
